Lakewood, N.J. – The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) has named Robert Mulligan a 2023 Ovation Award winner in the Emerging Leaders category. The Ovation Awards were announced October 4 and distributed in seven categories: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Emerging Leaders; Exceptional Educators; Impact; Innovation; Lifetime Leader and Women to Watch. Mr. Mulligan is one of five individuals at HFA honored by the NJCPA this year.
The Emerging Leaders category recognized savvy superstars who have been working in the accounting profession 10 years or less and have had noteworthy professional accomplishments; combined personal and professional achievements that merit special recognition; and/or actively participated in the advancement of the profession or NJCPA. The individuals stand out in the areas of professional knowledge, skill, integrity and leadership.
Robert Mulligan is a Supervisor at HFA within our Governmental Audit Department. What truly sets Mr. Mulligan apart is his extraordinary achievement of passing all four parts of the CPA exam while still in school, showcasing not only his intellect but also his commitment to professional development. Mr. Mulligan decided to use his educational foundation to pursue a career at HFA. Mr. Mulligan joined our firm in 2018 as a Staff Accountant and quickly demonstrated his exceptional talents and work ethic. In a remarkably short time, he ascended through the ranks, becoming a Supervisor in our firm by 2022. This rapid rise was not only due to his technical competence but also his ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients alike. One of the qualities that truly sets Mr. Mulligan apart is his willingness to go above and beyond to assist his colleagues in overcoming challenges and meeting client needs. Whether it is providing mentorship to junior staff, sharing his insights and knowledge during team meetings, or stepping in to resolve complex client issues, Mr. Mulligan consistently exhibits leadership qualities that inspire those around him.
